MEET YUSUF OLAYINKA SULAIMAN – THE NEXT TOWULADE OF AKINALE, A MAN MANY MAY NOT KNOW ENOUGH

MEET YUSUF OLAYINKA SULAIMAN – THE NEXT TOWULADE OF AKINALE, A MAN MANY MAY NOT KNOW ENOUGH

Introduction

My name is Sulyman Adedotun Adewunmi, Managing Director and CEO of ZADCON LIMITED. I am a licensed and practicing professional builder. At a recent event, I had the pleasure of reconnecting with an old comrade and friend, Sulaiman Olayinka Yusuf. What caught my attention immediately was his regal appearance — he was dressed in full royal attire, a sight that piqued my curiosity.

Knowing him as someone who has always embodied simplicity in both appearance and lifestyle, I couldn’t help but ask what occasion warranted such an elegant display. His response was both surprising and inspiring: he had been nominated by his entire family lineage to contest for the prestigious royal stool of Towulade of Akinale in Ogun State.
Instantly, memories of our days at Kwara Polytechnic, Ilorin came flooding back. Over 22 years ago, we both served in the National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOS) — I as the Public Relations Officer and Sulaiman as my Assistant. He later rose through the ranks to serve as Auditor and then Vice President of the association, clearly showing early signs of leadership, commitment, and vision.

Today, I write not just as a former comrade but also as a professional peer in the business and corporate world. I speak for myself and for the many alumni of Ogun State origin who passed through Kwara Poly — our collective endorsement of Yusuf Olayinka Sulaiman carries great significance.
Having known him personally and professionally, I can confidently say he is an exceptional candidate for the stool of Towulade of Akinale. His leadership experience, moral integrity, and deep-rooted love for his community make him a natural choice for this revered position.

Corporate & Leadership Journey

Yusuf Olayinka Sulaiman is a seasoned business strategist and sales professional with a robust background in marketing, customer engagement, and corporate leadership. His academic journey began at Keke Primary School in Agege, Lagos, and continued through Iganmu High School, where he obtained his SSCE in 1995. He earned his Higher National Diploma in Accountancy from Kwara State Polytechnic in 2000, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Enugu State University of Science and Technology in 2003. His commitment to lifelong learning led him to pursue professional studies at the American University in Cairo, where he obtained a professional certificate in 2015. He is also an Associate Member of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN).

His professional career began with Procter & Gamble Nigeria in 2004, where he served as a Van Sales Executive before rising to the position of Field Section Manager. In these roles, he managed over 1,000 retail outlets in Lagos, developed customer relationship strategies, and led teams that achieved consistent sales growth. From 2009 to 2013, he worked with Magen-ROI Products Ltd. as an Area Sales Manager, where he expanded market reach, managed sales budgets, and led regional teams with precision and insight.

Today, he is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Brandworth Impression Limited and Peakpoint Insights Limited, where he oversees business development strategies, brand management, and overall corporate growth. His leadership style combines innovation with discipline, and he has successfully implemented strategic marketing initiatives and business solutions that have impacted various sectors positively.

Beyond the corporate world, Sulaiman has made a name for himself in leadership and community-focused initiatives. He currently serves as the President of the Young Business Owners and Leaders, promoting entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, and innovation across Nigeria. As the General Secretary of the Evergreen Multipurpose Cooperative Society, he played a pivotal role in securing a Lagos State Government license to operate CNG-powered buses—assembled by NORD Motors—on 11 key routes within Lagos metropolis, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at sustainable urban mobility.

Sulaiman Yusuf is also deeply involved in politics and grassroots mobilization. He coordinated the Noimot Salako-Oyedele Frontiers (NSOF), a political support group that successfully rallied support for the current Ogun State administration. Today, their principal, Her Excellency Noimot Salako-Oyedele, serves as the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, now on a joint second-term mandate.

Why Sulaiman Yusuf Stands Out

Through years of business, service, and leadership, Yusuf Olayinka Sulaiman has consistently demonstrated integrity, resilience, and a deep commitment to his roots. He is a direct descendant of Akinwale, the founder of Akinale, which further reinforces his historical and ancestral connection to the town he now aspires to lead.
He is a man of vision, one who believes in economic empowerment, youth development, cultural preservation, and modern leadership rooted in traditional values. His ability to unite people, manage resources, and inspire progress makes him not just a worthy candidate, but a transformational one. He has pledged, should Allah will his ascension to the throne, to unveil a detailed roadmap for the development and prosperity of Akinale.

He is married to Barrister Jelilat Funmilayo Yusuf, Principal Legal Consultant at Lawzone Consult, Lagos, and they are blessed with children.

Conclusion

Akinale is on the brink of a new era. In Yusuf Olayinka Sulaiman, the community has a leader who blends heritage with innovation, humility with strength, and tradition with foresight. I wholeheartedly endorse him as the next Towulade of Akinale, and I encourage all stakeholders, sons and daughters of the land, and lovers of progress to lend their support to this noble and worthy ambition.
